Apart from some huge faux pas, like undermining their diplomatic mission in Wellington and grandstanding in the expectation that there will be a snap election, the Government is doing an adequate job, but it costs too much!!!

Time for a snap election, we need a strong government with a propert majority.

Let's not waste money on snap elections. We had a chance to change personalities in 2004 but for the most part we voted the "old school" back in again and would proably do the same in a snap election. What we need is leadership that puts aside personal agendas and sticks to a development plan that is objective, less politically driven and affordable. Jim did the right thing cancelling fanciful and expensive plans for a new High Commission in Wellington and a new Parliament. Those were popular moves that reflected the thinking of the largely silent but fed-up majority. At the least, Jim Marurai has brought to the leadership an element of commonsense that people want to see. Pity there's not more like him.

I think the snap election is good. Clear the air once and for all. Give the people a chance to vote in a party with a clear majority who can get on with running the country. For the last 2 years since the election its been just one group after the other trying to take power. Lets just go back to the polls and get it over and done with. Hopefully the people will put their money where there mouth is and vote to give someone a clear majority. Although it doesnt help when vote is split and all in the name of change. Oh well it is a right that is there to be excersised.
